Nhớ rừng (Yearning for the Jungle ) This is a poem from The Lu, taught in grade 8 in Vietnam. I have fallen in love at first sight. J ust for fun (Vietnamese music with English version) I have heard many Vietnamese songs, English songs, and Vietnamese music with English lyrics.  I have noticed that  Vietnamese songs with English lyrics are too much trying to focus on context. It means those songs want to transmit all of Vietnamese words and context to English. Only one sentence of a song contains so many words. It becomes discomfort and unnatural when listening to native speakers both English and Vietnamese. Obviously in Vietnamese, this song is beautiful. On the other hand, truly English songs are focus on context, rhythm, and tone (like Vietnamese songs). Example: just a little word such as I, you, all, etc. It's almost a sentence in song. I....I...I (up and down and up and down).  In my point of view, each has its unique feature.  It is hard to translate from this language to that language still can maintain perfect rhythm, context, and tone. 5. N atural Improvement When I was in secondary school or high school, I was painfully struggling in English. People around me said that if you go to live in America, England or other countries having the first language is English, you would naturally improve your English and even like a native speaker. At that time, I questioned them why. They just said broadly that if you have an environment to speak and immerse in English every day. You will enhance significantly your language. 1. W estern cultures I am Vietnamese. Both of my mom and dad are Vietnamese, too. I have never been to any western country. I have approached western cultures through movies, music, game shows,  TV shows, etc. The most amazing thing I'm impressed that natural people and how they show affection. To me, Western people are extremely spontaneous such as when they are smiling, talking, or taking photos. Perhaps, a wide diversity of skin, eye, or hair colors making them natural in part. I strongly believe that they are truly confident. Moreover, they display affection and carrying each other very frequently, deeply, and naturally. They can say "I love you" to their mom and dad  any time possible. In Vietnam, it is very rare. We hide and seldom express our feelings which just display on special occasions.
