Months off

Hello everyone. Thank you very much for accompanying me so far. I'd like to inform you that I have decided to take a quite long break not updating this site for the next months. I don't know when I will come back but hopefully, it will be soon. The reason is that I have the feeling that I've written quite a lot of posts but my writing skills aren't enhanced much recently. I still write down with my vocabulary knowledge and the grammar was not checked carefully. I am absolutely not satisfied with these things.  I think I should have some time to revise carefully my writing style and improve my skills.  These days, I've also been looking for information about the IELTS writing test from talented people who got band 9.0 for their writing skills leading me to be aware that  being well-written requires intensive work and effort. It is time to revise, gain knowledge and push my writing ability up to a new level. I'm looking forward to speaking to you again. PS/ In my...

Fantastic!

Very good English users share experiences to tackle IELTS that I feel really fantastic and very correct. It demonstrates that they spend lots of time and effort on English. It is true that they deserve to get high IELTS scores - almost an absolute score. I often collect information from 8 IELTS . In this youtube channel, there are some Musketeers who are helping IELTS takers to crack this test for example Vũ Hải Đăng, Đặng Trần Tùng, Duy Long, Quang Nguyễn (in particular Vũ Hải Đăng). They mention tips that are absolutely precise. 1) Like a virgin 2) Whisper sheet method 3) If you are good at translating, then you are a master at reading and so on. Please check it out There are some more social websites ( IELTS family , IELTS NGOC BACH ) that also share informative skills from experienced people. When I read it, I am total to be convinced by their posts. Nghe An, January 30, 2022

Little things #9

26) You and I I like the most when I was using English daily life to communicate with so many people that the Pronouns "you" and "I". I mostly forget the order relationship in Asian cultures. Luckily, I've noticed quite early and still behave morally especially I am living in Asia. 27) If you are smart, people are jealous of you If you are outstanding excellence, people will admire you ___Unknown____ 28) Tomorrow never exists                                                                       Nghe An, January 30, 2022

English learning #9

Image
I think the biggest barrier of English learners is that when you speak and write out something you're not sure if it is natural or it is used by native English speakers or not. We're afraid that we are speaking and writing wrongly and therefore we think and hesitate and try to communicate what we've known and taught. Probably we all know that learning languages are to mimic and imitate others. We can't produce them but we can follow English speakers. I have several references for you to check whether it is natural in English use. 1) Youglish What a fantastic source!! 2) Google it A quick approach is taking a look at google images PS. Google is one of the best things ever invented. This blog site is from Google and Youtube, too. Appreciate!! 3) You can use Google translate Many good English learners negate using Google translate. I disagree with this. To be a master at anything, we all have to be beginners. To use this site efficiently, you should know what is probably...

Everyone-known tests

I admit that exams are boring but it helps us to accumulate knowledge in several certain ways. There are lots of tests that so many people take such as TOEIC, IELTS, SAT, GRE, etc. I will note some suggestions down to have better preparation for the everyone-known tests. These kinds of tests share some common points that contain numerous materials, tips, and advice. 1) Always have a general picture  2) Sum up the repetitive knowledge before someone makes it for you This tip helps you not be overwhelmed when collecting information on the internet. You can do it by finding out the common features leading you are able to know exactly what they are saying 3) Always practice and learn from mistakes. I know how bored it is when taking the same sample tests repeatedly. For example, from my listening IELTS preparation stuff, I was not willing to relisten records from time to time. It seems I want to listen to something new. But I know how to handle it. You don't need to consider it as a te...

Research also have tips

Image
 1) Be careful with major words There are lots of major words that are quite familiar to you in certain meanings. But they also contain completely different meanings in other fields of work such as electricity for example Current, Concentration,... It is vitally important if you are reading papers with no insights in the field before. 2) Note meanings with your language You should make sure you are clear with some definitions. You also can do this by noting them down with your mother tongue language. PS Research of Quynh Nghe An, January 30, 2022

Little things #8

23) One's purposes are different We cannot compare with others because their purposes are not similar to ours. For example, some people are very good at English because it seems most of them want to become English teachers or for media. To be honest, I love English but sometimes I get bored studying. Oops! Oops! Another personal example is I really admire a friend of mine. He not only has numerous accomplishments in research but he also learns and is very good at a third language (Korean). Actually, I know learning Korean is good for me when I am living in South Korea but I don't have a clear picture of this language so till now I haven't learned Korean seriously.  I asked him why and how he learns Korean. He told me that he spends a little time in the morning and at night studying and he wants to work in Korea after graduation. I realize that one's purpose is different. PS The thing is sometimes we do not simply do what we love. We also have to do what we should.  24) ...

A fun thing

I watched Titanic several times and I love it. I have got some meaningful messages about life, people, and love.  I was influenced even a couple of days after watching this with indescribable feelings. You know what? I wondered why Jack cannot be alive with Rose  in the same way that Rose rescued  and I searched youtube for the same question.  The interesting thing here is  there are also some videos mentioning this topic for example A "Titanic" Myth: Would Jack have survived if Rose had shared the door?  Probably, They are the same as my feeling and try to figure out the answer :))) Nghe An, January 28, 2022

I am not a very good scholarship hunter with prestigious achievements. However, I have got several financial support to study abroad. So I have got a little experience to get that. I am going to present here that can be applied for any type of scholarship. Generally speaking, 1) Preparation is key to succeed 2) Get to know well the requirements of the scholarship 3) Be confident 4) Know what you have 5) Be honest Nghe An, January 28, 2022

An IELTS format text

Question: Some people believe that English learners have to reach at native speakers' level as many people we can see nowadays, however, others think that it is not necessary as long as we can communicate in daily life. Discuss both views and give your opinion?  (Note: I make the question on my own) It is true that perfect English use in various foreigners who don't speak English as a mother tongue is extremely popular recently even those at a really young age. While I would argue that we should be good at whatever we learn, I agree with the viewpoint that excellent English is not vital as it seems On the one hand, there are several reasons why people think we should reach the English native speakers level. Firstly, massive people who speak  English  very well as a second language are seen more popularly than ever such as at school or on television. This would be the motivation for other learners who want to use English fluently. Secondly, people who argue that no mistake...

The beauty of research

Image
1) Uncertain A is the question, B is the answer and C is the new answer. You will be publishing the work of C Reference: Why truly innovative science demands a leap into the unknown 2) Make simplicity from very complicated insights. Eventually, implication or real device is applied with the simple purposes 3) Research is just the result of the device that we have and we can use 4) Imagine is vital in research Reference: It's not what you think, it's how you think PS I am in the first steps into research and I desire to conquer this. I really like to watch TED-Ed which have millions of informative videos, especially the presentations from scientists helping me to open my mind and prepare for my coming research life Nghe An, January 26, 2022

What is maturity?

Image
I would argue that a mature person is calm, disciplined, and has many experiences in life leading to change their perspective. No need to show their ego because they know who they really are, and know how to please people. This definition is for those who are peaceful, to not think too much in any circumstances and focus on their purposes. This can be seen in men more than women, perhaps. I admire these characteristics and I am pursuing to be able to possess them. I am not inherent that person, but instead, I am simple, talkative, have a sense of humor, enthusiasm, and caring, also display my ego. I realize they are not enough and I still feel depressed, tired, and most importantly I cannot reach success what I long for. I have changed a lot for two exact reasons below Yep. That is right. Now, I feel more comfortable and I believe I will fulfill my desire. All in all, to me, mature people are able to control their feeling well.  A grown adult is someone kind of: - I have my own rul...

An IELTS Speaking preparation

Image
This is a clumsy preparation but I would love to share here is the content. I hope it helps! Tip: You can click on the picture for more clearly PS I love reading books mentioning personal experiences which is similar to what I am writing in this blog. They all are more appealing to me than any other types of books. As I mentioned The pursuit of happiness  my entire life is the pursuit o f happiness. I just want to be happy eventually no more or less. But after encountering challenges and tough times, I began to question what kind of happiness I am truly looking for.  Why do hardships exist? Why must I go through them? .  Through research and reading this book, I've come to realize that we should search for meaning instead of endlessly chasing happiness.  Happiness is fleeting, but meaning gives depth to our experiences, making even struggles worthwhile.  Perhaps happiness isn't the goal itself but a byproduct of living with purpose. T rue fulfillment comes ...

Benefits of writing habit

Hi. I'm going to show some advantages of the writing habit as an English learner from my experience. Firstly, I find many expressions I cannot be able to communicate correctly in terms of grammar, vocabulary usage, etc. Therefore my ability will be enhanced Secondly, I will find some expressions in other sources like books, websites that communicated exactly what I intended in my old posts. As the result, I will correct them instead of using basic words, long sentences, and the meaning is not totally matched either. Therefore, I am able to express my saying naturally like native speakers Thirdly, I have ideas to talk to someone because in this blog I express all my thinking, so when conversations mention similar topics I will grab content in blog posts immediately (especially IELTS Speaking =)) Nghe An, January 21, 2022

When things started to go wrong?

I have been gone through difficulties in studying with extremely bad consequences. To be exact, I had to change my research advisor. I asked myself why things happen to me. Why I am different from my peers? It seems that there are some things I must go deeper in the very beginning. - I did not have careful preparation - I always want to do what I want but not consider it in reality, meaning that I did it with pure faith. - I am not subtle to understand other's points - Partly because I was not in luck :(( PS/ Preparation is key for everything Nghe An, January 20, 2022

English learning #8

Spelling has an important role to play in English, especially in the IELTS Listening test. It is disappointing when you can listen to the answer but write the wrong words. I see this is also one big problem of mine. Rewrite is the only work that enables me to fix it.  In this post, I will show some ideas why I have mistakes in spelling instead :)) - The "similar" pronunciation - Pronounce wrongly - Don't know to pronounce - Feeling differently between typing and handwriting Nghe An, January 20, 2022

Take a real IELTS test

Hi there. I will review my IELTS test experience last week 1) Speaking An examiner spoke really fast leading my speaking performance was fast as well. I spoke very quickly. There could be a benefit that my hesitation was reduced significantly :)) Key: I didn't practice much so the test was not good. Personally, it was acceptable but the result is slightly lower than I expected. 2) Listening This is the most disappointing test. The record was spoken fast but I prepared previously by listening to 1.25-speed videos. However, it was a bit different from practice tests. The answers came more quickly than sample tests and the speakers weren't much slow down in the answers I missed out on nearly the first five questions in part 1. Luckily, I have been reminded myself not to be panic because my aim score is not high. It helped me to be able to listen better to later questions. So my score was just ok. The listening skill is what I want to improve the most now.  I don't feel right a...

Notes

Image
Oops! I am going to take the IELTS test tomorrow. Just a couple of hours left for preparation. These are several notes for myself, hopefully, in this post, no words are spelling mistakes 1) Your aimed score is not high. So completely keep calm if you miss out on several questions in the real test.  2) The test will stop immediately after the duration end. Make sure to answer all questions with the right requirements. LISTENING 2) Be careful of the question order in the Listening test on Computer-delivered Based. 3) There are two minutes for the last checking. It is quite short so, ensure the right answers for each section ) No stop a question too long. Always read ahead and underline keywords. ) Underline the words before and after  for part 4 ) Answers are usually spoken more slowly.  ) Make sure not to miss the flow ) Be careful with spelling and single or plural. If you are not sure about the spelling, just write down what you would pronounce it. If you are not sure a...
