Take a real IELTS test
Hi there. I will review my IELTS test experience last week
1) Speaking
An examiner spoke really fast leading my speaking performance was fast as well. I spoke very quickly. There could be a benefit that my hesitation was reduced significantly :))
Key: I didn't practice much so the test was not good. Personally, it was acceptable but the result is slightly lower than I expected.
2) Listening
This is the most disappointing test. The record was spoken fast but I prepared previously by listening to 1.25-speed videos. However, it was a bit different from practice tests. The answers came more quickly than sample tests and the speakers weren't much slow down in the answers
I missed out on nearly the first five questions in part 1. Luckily, I have been reminded myself not to be panic because my aim score is not high. It helped me to be able to listen better to later questions. So my score was just ok.
The listening skill is what I want to improve the most now. I don't feel right at all to be not able to listen well
3) Reading
This is the highest score in my result. I did all techniques I had learned. It seems my answer was almost right.
However, I didn't finish the test even just clicking since I wanted to make sure all my answers were right rather than spending time on unread questions. But I highly recommend spending one minute to finish all questions.
I think the technique is fine. The only thing that can improve in the Reading test now is vocabulary range.
PS I didn't know in this test platform, I could copy and paste
4) Writing
No time to plan. Just think and write at the same time. To me, it was fine. But again, the score was slightly slower than I predicted.
In conclusion, I pass the minimum score that I have to get for university admission.
PS When I have time, I will practice for IELTS to get a higher mark. I will reference other resources, especially the writing test apart from Simon's because I simply wanna collect and know how to get valuable ideas for writing from other English learners instead of native speakers. Still, I stick with Simon's technique.
