Question: Some people believe that English learners have to reach at native speakers' level as many people we can see nowadays, however, others think that it is not necessary as long as we can communicate in daily life. Discuss both views and give your opinion?
(Note: I make the question on my own)
It is true that perfect English use in various foreigners who don't speak English as a mother tongue is extremely popular recently even those at a really young age. While I would argue that we should be good at whatever we learn, I agree with the viewpoint that excellent English is not vital as it seems
On the one hand, there are several reasons why people think we should reach the English native speakers level. Firstly, massive people who speak English very well as a second language are seen more popularly than ever such as at school or on television. This would be the motivation for other learners who want to use English fluently. Secondly, people who argue that no mistake in learning English seem uncomfortable or even dislike imperfect English users. They might argue that some individuals can do that, you also have to do that. Good English spoken is nothing impossible.
On the other hand, English excellence in some ways is not the need for everyone if you can communicate at work and in conversations. For example, we can see many foreigners succeed in their field of work although their English is not totally perfect such as scientists, professors, etc. I also argue that reaching excellence in learning a language is extremely difficult and perhaps you could be miss out on other opportunities in life.
In conclusion, although it can be seen that perfect English users would be the desire, I personally favor that it would be better to use English as a language to communicate your messages without misunderstanding.
