I was wrong - English Improvement (Continued!)
In the English Improvement post, I mentioned that the biggest improvement I'm chasing now is that I am able to turn into another voice in Speaking skills.
I spent quite a long time mimicking other voices. It turned out that my tone still maintain more or less. And it is not going like the voice I want.
I then listened to both Vietnamese and English of Vietnamese people who are very good at English. Probably, their voices don't change much, either. Also probably, they are good at English because they are good at pronunciation (master at tough sounds such as "r", "l"), fluency, nature intonation, and so on.
I then search some interesting videos such as Why you don't like the sound of your own voice, Why you don't like to hear your own voice.
Maybe it is true that I am not satisfied with my own voice. Everyone has his or her own unique voice to distinguish one another. I concluded that I should focus on things more important and necessary such as pronunciation, vocabulary, fluency, etc. In fact, I have not been good at these above skills
However, I can change a bit my voice to become more native by working on in English placement
Well done!!! Quynh :D :D Sometimes I should give rewards to myself PUBLICLY :))
PS> I admit that I am not too confident about Speaking. But I think it is acceptable about my intonation. To be honest, I feel it is really strange a couple Vietnamese people speak English in the way too Vietnamese even those who use English frequently at work. I assume that they don't listen to English much. A friend of mine told me that my spoken language is quite natural. It probably is and in part, because I listen to so many TV shows of native English speakers and movies as well.
