English learning #4 (more!!)

 MUST-KNOWN when learning a language.

Today is October 10, 2020. It is a beautiful number. I will make the effort to write down this blog to have a memorable  day

In my opinion, language is a difficult subject. What do you think? Someone is very good at like completely a native speaker, someone is not. After a long time, I've been learning English as if it is gonna last my whole life. I collected some must-known skills to learn a language in general.

1. Natural learning language in the form: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It is the way of children's receiving and producing language. You have to listen a lot. When you have input, you will have output to speak. Reading and writing are followed right after that.

However, when I learn English in middle school and high school, even at university in Vietnam. It is completely opposite. I simply studied grammar and vocabulary.

2. You have to apply flexibility between your mother tongue and the language you are learning. Especially, when you learn vocabulary. When you learn English, a word has various meanings. So, you cannot pin a word only with a meaning. If not, it is such a big problem. Don't worry. Something it totally looks like your mother tongue. It is awesome. A similar thing here is the level of feeling of speakers

Moreover, when you learn a language. You need to change how to put your mouth and tongue. It's almost wholly different because it has new sounds. It cannot be the same with your mother tongue.

3. You can have good advice to improve your speaking and writing. Listening and reading are hardly possible. Why? The big different things between speaking, writing and listening, reading is that you are producing the language when learn speaking and writing. Some words are out of your mouth, your writings are on a piece of paper. Teachers or friends can give feedback on you. This grammar is wrong, this vocabulary is wrong. However, in listening and reading, you receive the language. Teachers or friends cannot give feedback on you. The teachers or friends would have to physically go into your brain and see your thought process to figure out what is going on. We don't have the ability to do that.

It means it depends on you. When my friend was struggling in listening and reading English. She asked me for advice. I tell her what I did, what I thought during doing that. However, It did not work out much.
