How does an enviroment change my English?

Hi, my sweet friends. As you might know, I am living in a foreign country. I have an outstanding opportunity to speak English everyday. Today, I would like to briefly exhibit you all my journey to improve my English up to now. I hope you don't laugh at me because it is such a great shame. Also, it isn't much. When I have more experience I will add as completely as possible 

I am living in a country that doesn't speak English as the first language. My English improvement is almost corrected by myself. 

Firstly, I make notes of what I couldn't say in conversations or what I said wrong. I would correct them later. I must tell you the truth. As soon as I spoke out, although it was fundamentally basic, I realized that my grammar was terribly wrong. Unacceptably,  I think I would never speak incorrectly such that way. Because for sure I'm familiar with that. I used to be tested regularly in class. But it happened. As I mentioned previously in the English learning topic, writing and speaking are truly your English. Listening and reading, they aren't yours.

For example: 

- Using wrong roles of adjectives, adverbs, and nouns.

ex) Using an adjective with an article (a, an, the). Also, lacking of an article with a noun.

ex) Using an adjective instead of an adverb    

Using fluently adjectives, adverbs and nouns are really important.

- Lacking or wrong prepositions (even with simple tenses)

ex) I have waited for six hours

- Using wrong tenses

- Subject-Verb agreement

- Demonstrative pronouns: this, that, these, those, etc.

It shows that the existing difference between study and practical application. To make your knowledge become your possess. Practice is extremely vital.   

Furthermore, real conversations need more than what we were taught. I have never seen any book teaching how to say how many years I am older than you. They teach about the comparative adjective. 

I am older than you. I am taller than you.

In fact, I would say I am two years older than you. I am three cm taller than you. It is truly English used daily. Once again, practice is for your purposes. 

Now, I know more about day-to-day English out of textbooks and exams thanks to the environment. To me, the huge influence of the environment is to let us know our shortcomings and help us pay more thoughtful attention to every single thing. Because of that, I've known there are numerous expressions I couldn't speak out and it is really necessary of practicing. I have noticed more frequently about my English as well as the others. As I've noted earlier, the environment doesn't make your English improvement naturally. It does force you to change. If you don’t have more environment to enhance English, let practice instead. If I have practiced diligently, I wouldn’t face such problems.       

In conclusion, consistently practice is to say your intention intentionally such as a daily conversation or a presentation, and so on. 

Now I'm working on a book titled "Basic grammar in use" to make sure they are being used correctly. 

            

P.S Never ignore and neglect regardless of basic errors. We cannot do great things before we do small things in a great way. They were in part inspired by a English teacher at my university. When I was a freshman at university. My classmates and I took a compulsory English class. We studied with improper attitudes. It is not a good excuse but stiff competition with a sufficiently high and comprehensive expectation on university students, English was not a priority among us back then. We all understood that Maths, Physics, and major classes are prerequisites obviously. My teacher told us sadly that "If you don't have appropriate attitudes for learning English, you would never have the right behaviors for another class. English is just a tool. If you cannot pass through a small barrier, English, you would never reach your dream". I was wide open and it forced me to have a serious reflection on myself. I was always in luck due to the contribution of great teachers. So, that is all for today. See you
